About The Learning Tree W.L.L. and Our Principal
The Learning Tree Nursery was created following the standards set about by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, NAEYC, the U. S. Department of Education, National Child Day Care Association, and British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We follow the teaching strategies of The Creative Curriculum, by Diane Trister Dodge, Laura Colker, and Cate Heroman.
The Learning Tree which was founded in 2008, is the creative combination and intertwining of all of the above teaching strategies, standards, curriculum guidelines, and school environmental philosophies as shared by Sandra Al-Ajmi, the Principal and Co-Owner.
Meet the Principal:
I have a master’s degree in early childhood education and Administration. I have been living and working in the Arab/American culture since late 1970’s. Thus, teaching a diverse group of students in a multicultural setting is my passion. And it is these years of working with children of all ages that has made me determined to build and develop a program for children of preschool age that will enable them to be prepared for entry into their elementary school years. But more importantly, I wanted to foster a love for learning. I wanted to not only provide young children educational opportunities but guide them to build knowledge while having fun.
I chose to open a Nursery in Bahrain because of my own personal interest in Bahrain, and from my deep desire to see quality educational opportunities for all children. I believe that everyone has the right to quality education and no better place to start, than with this critical stage of development, Early Childhood. It’s never too early to foster a love for learning.
I look forward to meeting you,
